Therapy is not one size fits all

I use a client-centered, evidence-based method to help you feel seen, heard, and safe while you are also being gently challenged to move past your limiting beliefs and actions. That means that even though our therapy sessions would look and feel different from time to time, my goal is to meet you where you are emotionally and walk alongside with you one step at a time. Some of the modalities and techniques I use include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – to explore and shift unhelpful thoughts, patterns, and behaviors

  • Mindfulness & Acceptance-based strategies – to build presence, reduce reactivity, and increase resilience

  • Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy – to safely explore feelings, needs, and emotional processing

  • Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy – to improve communication, understanding, and connection among family members or couples

  • Trauma Focused CBT – to ensure safety, respect, and pacing when working through distressing experiences.

  • Strengths-Based Work – to find practical tools, small wins, and build on what already works.

Therapeutic Approaches

Your Story Matters

Every word you share carries your experiences, emotions, and dreams. In therapy, we’ll explore your story together—looking at patterns, beliefs, and experiences that have shaped your life. This is a safe space to let your thoughts and feelings flow freely and to use your emotions as a guide toward healing.

By connecting with what you feel and why you feel it, you can release what’s been holding you back and start embracing the strength and wisdom in your story.

Every challenge you’ve faced is part of your unique journey. Together, we’ll walk a path toward understanding, growth, and greater well-being. Sharing your story is a courageous step—and it has the power to help you heal.

Here’s roughly how our therapy services unfold, to help you feel prepared and comfortable stepping in:

  1. Introductory Call
We start with a no-cost, 10-15-minute call. It’s a chance for me to know if I can help you with your concerns, if online therapy is right for you at this time, and if our styles seem like a good fit.

  2. Initial Intake Session
During the first full session, we dive a bit deeper: your background, any previous therapy, what’s been going on, and what you hope to get out of therapy.

  3. Regular Sessions
A standard therapy session and covered by insurance is 45 minutes long, scheduled weekly or every other week (depending on what feels right). Together we’ll work toward your goals, adjusting as needed.

  4. Review & Feedback
Periodically (often every few weeks), we pause to reflect: how things are going, what’s helping, what’s not, and whether anything needs to shift.

  5. Wrap-Up or Transition
When therapy has achieved what you want (or when you are ready), we’ll plan for ending or transitioning – making sure you feel stable, have tools, and know how to keep going on your own or with less frequent check-ins.

What to Expect: The Therapeutic Process

How long will therapy take?
It depends on what you want to work on. Some people see noticeable shifts in a few sessions (especially if focused issues), while others choose to engage in longer-term work.

Is online therapy effective?
Yes. Online therapy has been found to be just as effective as in-person. It also offers the convenience of not needing to travel to the office, take time off from school or work, or ask family members for transportation if driving is a barrier. Most clients have the flexibility to schedule therapy sessions during their lunch time, remote-working days, off days, and even during family vacations.

What are your individual therapy fees & insurance policies?
Fees vary depending on the type of therapy, session length, and whether insurance and deductible is met. Typically, a 45-minutes session is $175 while a 60-min session is $200. To assist with affording therapy, I accept many insurance plans and you will be responsible for your co-pay and any out of pocket requirements. Feel free to verify your benefits here:

How should I choose a therapist / what if I don’t feel this is the right fit?
Choosing a therapist is very personal. Relationships are complex and you need to feel connected to your therapist for therapy to work. I encourage open communication: if something isn’t clicking, we’ll address it together, or I can help you find someone better suited.
